DISTRICT 4  |  City of Pomona

The City of Pomona is divided into six Council districts. There are six council members and a mayor elected by the voters of the district that they represent. District 4 sits south of the 10 and north of 1st street on Pomona's east side between Garey Ave and Mills Ave.

 

District 4 has four city parks (Lincoln, Garfield, Jaycee, and Montvue) and a small park at Holt Family Apartments which includes outdoor space, a playground, a basketball court, community gardens, a community space for use by the tenants and the surrounding community. It includes one historic district (Lincoln Park), and many beautiful historic homes throughout the entire district. District 4 has eight Pomona Unified schools (including Park West and SEEO), four alternative schools, and is home to Western University of Health Sciences. District 4 includes the north side of Antique Row in Historic Downtown Pomona and is part of the DPOA Business Improvement District. District 4 has one LA County Fire Department Station (183) on San Antonio.

 

City of Pomona Councilmembers are elected for over-lapping four-year terms. This year, Council seats in districts 1, 4, and 6 are open, as well as the Mayoral seat. Each Councilmember is nominated by and represents the district in which he or she lives. The City Council selects one of its members as Vice-Mayor, excluding the mayor, every eight months.
